I picked Dark Fire up at the 1/2 price store and to this date it is one of my favorite reads (and rereads) and i am now trying to make my way back to the begining to start with the 1st book. I love the ones i have read and look forward to getting them all to complete the dark set. Amanda Ashley is Good, but she just cant compare to the passion and power of your books. Keep them coming..it wont take me long to catch up when i cant seem to put them down once i start.

Shadow Game was good, but I REALLY love the Dark series - the closest thing to a "problem" that I have with the Dark series is that my husband [who reads slowlyyyyy]always wants first dibs! Please keep writing in this "vein." The best thing is that, even though there is a certain "formula," you still manage to keep each book fresh.

I just read the book Dark Melody, and as a whole I did enjoy it.
However, I was very disappointed in the story line of Barrack & Syndal. If as you say, that there will be no book for them, I was hoping for more story line, or even a chapter or two on the troubles they had in her trusting him, after her attack. I felt like you let the characters down for all the fans.

I got hooked on the Carpathians by reading Dark Symphony first. I immediately purchased the entire series. I read them in a day. Dark Melody was awesome. I really liked Dark Melody! It had a very different twist to the plot but I loved it! I loved the way you brought all Carpathians together in a time of need for just one. Hi, Just got through with Dark Melody, it was great, absolutely! It was for me over too quick though as I do not think I put the book down until I had read the last page! =o) And now I await the next in the Dark Series as it is my favorite in my paranormal/fantansy book collection. And to think I almost didnt buy the book the got me hooked..Dark Fire! But I did an am now a big fan!
But I must admit in embarrassment of course, that I do not know who this Dimitri is that is Skylars LifeMate....is he a character in another of your books? "I know I know bad bad fan lol." I'm afraid that your novels and short stories have become similar to an intense chocolate addiction. A long dry spell and then instead of just nibbling and enjoying the end of the deprevation I just gorge myself and read every new novel/short story in just hours or stay up all night and appear the next day with circles under my eyes and temper on edge from lack of sleep. Wish I could do the Carpathian thing and send my invisible self out to complete the days' chores. Everything you have written is carefully stored in my hidden stash and when the wait is long I pull out one or more and enjoy its unique flavor one more time. I'm so very pleased that Byron was paired - I was very worried about him after "Dark Desire" and the lack of mention of him in the subsequent novels until "Dark Symphony". Wonderful! Keep them coming. You've a devoted fan in Clarkston. Again, many thanks, you've brigtened up what has been a very brutal year for me.

last night i downloaded the screensaver. right after that i had to go take care of some things in the kitchen. when i was walking back down the hall way i heard a sound coming from the computer room, totally forgeting about the screensaver. The first book I read was "Dard Fire" and I fell in love with the Carpathians after the first few chapters. It took me awhile to find most of the other books but I like to read a series in the order it is written. I just finished "Dark Melody". I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your writing. I have read yor other books as well. I look forward to what 2004 will bring.
Thank you for your wonderful works. I've only read Dark Symphony and Dark Melody myself. But, with money so slim, I'm getting your books one by one. I would like to congratulate you on capturing so many fans out here. I know I'm surely marking you on my list of a favorite author. I don't know how to describe it, but your writing does something to all of us out here.
Some get different feelings, but for me, it's a type of inspiration I can't quite understand. Me myself hoping to become a writer, I only hope that one day, my books will be looked on as yours are now.
I just would like you to know. You've made a difference in my life through your writings. And with every book I'll come to read, I know I'll love them, and continue to get more inspiration from your works.
I guess to sum it all up. You're a great writer and I admire your skills. You've taken the things I love more than anything, and used them all to incorporate them into stories I thought I would never get to pick up on a shelf.
The first time I saw your work, it was the book Dark Symphony. I don't recall when it was that I bought it, or where I attained it, and sadly since I have lost the book. But I instantly fell in love with the characters. You have a way with things.
Up until now, Anne Rice has been one of my favorites, but now, I don't know. I seem to like your writings better. But it's not a popularity contest here, and I'll continue reading both...but again, I would like to say, thank you for giving me the inspiration I need to begin on my own stories again.
Maybe soon I'll have a complete book. But with so many unwritten halves of books, and scrawled out ideas, I don't know. Just thanks, once again.

I have just finished reading the long awaited book Dark Melody and I loved it! This was the first book that brought tears to my eyes and yet it was one of the happiest of the books. There was a tremendous feeling of hope both for Dayan and Corrine as well as for the Carpathian race. I loved the interaction between the characters that we have already met and how all of them seem so much lighter, as if a terrible burden has been lifted from them (especially Gregori).
At first I thought that Christine might have had a curse put on the Carpathians by the wizards to destroy their race, but know I see that she is giving a completely different reason. I can't wait for more books in the Dark series and I am still checking my local bookstore for the next Sisters book.

Christine, I've been hooked on your books ever since I read the first book in the "Dark Series". Your writing makes me feel like I'm right there with the characters. Hey Christine! I gotta give you props on Dark Melody! I had no idea that when I picked up Dark Desire out of complete boredom that I would become such a great fan. I have all of your Dark series and am so impatient for the next to come out. I just bought Dark Melody and told myself that I was going to take it slow, so I wouldn't have to wait as long for the next one. But did I listen to me own instructions?!? NO!! I just finished with Dark Melody a few hours ago and I just had to tell you that it was fantastic!!! It was definately one of my favorites and I've read all of your dark books. I love how she (for the life of me I can't spell her name) trusts Dayan and is so brave and upbeat about everything. I love that she never wimped out and didn't freak out about the truth of Dayan's life.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed Dark Melody and that I really had trouble putting it down to get some sleep. I absolutely adored it!!!

I just read twilight before christmas, i loooooved it the characters are so great. i am waiting for jonas and hannah's story and of course elle and jackson's story, those two couples spark off each other. it makes the reader want to go out and find that special man that will fullfill all your needs.

Just to say that since I picked up the first dark series book abour Mikhail and Raven I have been a hooked fan, your writing makes my imagination come alive - I pre order the book so that I get them the day they arrive here in the UK, The story lines and the intrigue, suspense and romance are brilliant, I can not wait for the next in the Carpathian series as I have all of them right up to Dark Melody and the intense drama and intrigue with a pregnant lifemate just made me want to cry. I have read many romance lines, but none hold my interest. Writers, some claim to be great, I find weak, the same old ideas drug out into a new book. By chance I picked up a copy of Dark Guardian. It was something I had never before experienced in romance. Your stories are engaging, thrilling, fluid and touching. I can identify with every character that lives in your novels. I have read many books and enjoyed many authors, but Ms. Feehan takes the cake! I have literally become addicted! I began reading the Dark series when my husband and I first got together and the emotions in the books jumped from the pages. My husband used a great line after we were together a few months and it was that I was the light and color to his world. Reading the very words in the Dark series touched me. To know that someone could write these book and have so much emotion truly overwhelmed me. Even though it is fiction, when you found the true love of your life, great books such as the Dark series will leave a lasting impression and make you mark the date on your calendar for the next one!

I finished The Twilight Before Christmas the day it was released (I could not put it down). I LOVED it! Please keep writing about the Drake sisters. Wanted to let you know that I really enjoy reading your books from your DARK SERIES. The stories and characters are wonderful, and I love the sense of humor you bring to each book.
I usually don't read gothic stories but after reading the DARK PRINCE I just had to get the next book, then the next, and the next and so on. I have not even picked up a book from another author since I begin these.

I just finished reading Dark Melody and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. There are 3 of us at work that have been reading the "Dark" books and we all feel that you are one of the most enchanting writers that we've read in a very long time. I also loved the Dark Melody book trailer and Issac Woofter is perfect as Dayan. However, the actor who played Gregori really did not fit your description of whom Gregori is. Have any of your books been optioned for film yet? It would be wonderful to see these stories come to life. I think my favorite thread through the whole saga has been the Dark Troubadors. It was wonderful to see the influence that Julian had to the other characters and how they all came together in Dark Melody to help out Dayan. I don't know if any of your other fans has brought this to your attention but there is a current band called Evanescence that totally suits the role of the Dark Troubadors. Their music is dark poetry and their lead singer, Amy Lee, seems to be the embodiment of Desari come to life. If you get the chance listen to her song "My Immortal" and you will hear your Desari.

I love your dark series. My favorite character is Gregori. I am also glad to see new material being explored like the jaguar people. I also enjoyed the Scarletti Curse and Lair of the Lion.
The only book so far that I did not care for was Dark Melody. It was too depressing and I thought too much time was spent on her illness. I am sure you don't like criticism, I know I don't, but I really love your books and own all of them. I have read the dark series twice.
I do hope that somewhere along the way you introduce a character that becomes Carpathian yet has no trouble having kids. It would be nice to think there is hope out there for them.
What about the fact that Rand got a human pregnant. It was never really explained how that happened with him but noone else has been able to.
Do you plan to delve further into the wizard line? You went into it a little in Dark Descent. Plus you got me interested in Joie Sanders brother and sister who are also telepathic.
Well, there are more questions but I will save them for another day.

I really enjoyed reading about the other Carpathians in this book. As always, you handle multiple characters well. I agree with one of the other comments, that it would be fun to have Gregori have twin girls. He would be seriously overprotective, but I have a feeling they would find a way to get around Dear Old Dad. I also enjoyed learning that Dayan really could hunt. He and Barrack seemed to always take a back seat to Darius, but it is just something about their lifemate being in jeopardy that brings out the hunter in them. As with all your books, Dark Melody was a good read.

I have read many vampire novels as I love paranormal romance stories, and I have to say that your's are the number one on my got to have and keep lists.
When I found out from reading the message boards that Dark Melody was out early I ran to the book store on Saturday to pick it up. Decided to sit in my car as I drank my Iced Espresso and next thing I know i am on Chapter 10! (luckily I am a very fast reader) Well I forced myself to put it down and finished it later that night. It is now Monday and I am on my second read through it and find it just as touching and mesmerizing as the first time.
I can't wait until the future books to come out (can just picture Gregori chasing around twin girls and lord help him when it is time for them to get lifemates!) so until then I will just keep revisiting all my "friends' from the previous ones.
Oh just one question how do you get to see the entire trailer? I have watched the teaser and that is exactly that a "teaser". Even after already reading the book I loved the characters portrayed in the teaser.

Like to say that I am a passionate reader. I dont even remember which of your books I picked up first, I just know now that I drive the people at Waldenbooks crazy when I am waiting for your books to come out. I just finished The Twilight Before Christmas (instead of doing my homework :) grr Im to old for college) Love to say it was great and disapointed it ended so soon. On page 104 where Jackson says "Kids have been having nightmares" I dont know why but to me it read that he was worried about the kids and wanted to protect them I got choked up. Even though if you reread it it read more like a question. Anyway I thought at that point he would be great for Elle and then poof later in the book it states they know each other WHOO HOO ..Im happy...soooo uh when is their book coming out? They will be togther right?.. (hint hint) Btw if you couldnt tell I like Jackson why I dont know but I do. Happy writing Ill be waiting (ohh that sounds stalkish like :)

I love all your Dark books but this one seemed better than all the rest. I love how you made the couple have to jump some hurdles before they were able to be together. I felt that I was in the story and had the emotions that they did. This story was so good that I finished it in a day and a half. I can not wait to read the next book. The first book I found by you was The Only One.
As I bought it, I was thinking to myself that it was going to be the typical vampire fantasy book, and I was elated when I saw the twist that you added to the mythos.
Needless to say, I loved the book, and when I saw Dark Melody in the store today, I got it as soon as I saw it.
I wonder if you will ever add a message type board to your page, or an area for a fan- fiction type of area.

Christine I really enjoyed reading Dark Melody. It is the best book yet of the Dark Series. I loved reading about the other characters from previous books and finding out how they are all doing. I know I have asked this question before but do you know if your books are going to be released on audio CD unabridged? My first job allows me to listen to audio books and I would like to listen to the Dark Series. I have read them all already but the images that a person sees in their head as someone else is reading to them just seems to bring the book more alive. So please consider having your books put on audio CD unabridged. Also, I work a second job at a bookstore here in West Virginia and I recommend your books' all the time to those customers who like paranormal romance. Of all the paranormal romances yours are everyones' favorites and I am asked all the time if you have a new one out yet or when your new book is due in to the store. And once again Dark Melody is a great book and I look forward to reading more in the series.

I have to say, your books are some of the best novels I have read. Normally anymore I don't take the time to read romance novels, but I did when I was younger. My little sister (18), Kathryn, introduced to me to you through Dark Symphony. I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't put your book down until she offered for me to read it. Byron is my first Carpathian love! (Gregori ranks a strong 2nd - all that power...) I have been hooked since. My sister and I are sharing the purchase of all of your books. You have such a talent! I have wanted to sit down and write stories on some of the dreams I've had, but I have never taken the time. Please continue with all of your wonderful stories. Your dark books are our favorite and we will look forward to each and every one. We look forward to reading more about the ones we have already read about too, to see what they are up to later. They almost become like family. You have created a wonderful world that gets us out of the drab of the real world for a while. I am not type that usually reads books alot. Very seldom, if I plan to go on vacation, or know that I'll be on a plane that's when I purchase books. My parents owned a "New & Used Book Shop when I was a child/teenager, I dread going in the store, books were not my thing.
Anyhow, my sister 5 years older than I, told me of your books, I went to a store and bought the Dark Prince, I could not put the book away. What normally takes me months to read a book, it took me less than a week to finish it. I loved it, I can't wait to read the next one. I'm a cajun-Southern New Orleans Lady, and I'm surrounded by the vampire legends, especially with Ann Rice living here, can't avoid it, but I think your book out did her movie hands down....

I loved the way you brought back some of the other characters, but yet they didnt take over the story. They were there to help Dayan and Corrine...I was sniffing and had tears in my eyes in parts I admit, and im glad you gave Cullen someone, he deserved it..... I love all your Dark books and cant wait to read more of them. Keep up the great writing of all your books.

First off, I love your books. The carpathian books are a blast. What i was wondering about was Shadow Game. I think you left one thing on that book unresolved, Lily's sisters, the other female ghost walkers. I thought it was really sad that she never got to know them. I love the Dark Series and I just got Shadow Game. Everytime I read your books, I start getting ideas for my own stories. This is how I know I'm a CF addict. Whenever I go to the local bookstores, I always look for the CF books. I will rearrange the bookshelf myself so that the Dark books are all together and in the RIGHT ORDER! Then I'll put Fantasy, Lover Beware, Shadow Game, Lair of the Lion, and the Scarletti Curse next to them. Neurotic? YES! Needless to say that I get the wierdest looks...especially from the people who work there, but after seeing me do it the first couple times, they just shake their head in disbelief. The first book I read was "Dark Fire" (it's still my favourite). I loved it so much that I searched in Amazon for the first ones and bought them. Since them I have bought every one of your books (including all the others not belonging to the Dark Series) ... I have already asked my distributor here in Portugal for "Dark Melody". With luck I will have it as soon as it comes out.
Still the one I love best is Dark Fire, followed very closely by Dark Magic and Dark Prince.
Don't take me wrong ... I loved all of them but, as everybody else, I have my favourites and Darius is the one that I love best.

I love these books! They are deeper than the average romance novel, and they get to the heart of issues that seemingly go by untouched by most novelists. The Carpathian/vampiric/immortal subject of these books are largely untapped, when you pit them against the seemingly millions of "cowboy and lady" books currently in print. This genre is not only refreshing, but shows us the evolution of the female mind. In the 70's, cowboy novels were the thing, as were contemporary romances in faraway places; now, there seems to be a more spiritual side to romance, and less friviolity. Even the darker, gothic genre has a more spiritual side to it, and I love that. I truly believe that Emily Bronte herself would be duly impressed by the writings of Christine Feehan.
Mrs. Feehan, please keep up the good work. I love your novels, and I am now a devoted fan!

I have ready about 3of the Dark Series, and two others, Shadow Game, and The Scarletti Curse. I am curious about the aspect of Christianity in your books especially in your Dark Series. Is it important to you that the Carpathians have God as the ultimate authority? I know Mikhai especially is concerned with his place in the scheme of the world. I am a Christian myself, and I agree with you in your book that whatever God makes ultimately is in his plan and are worthy of life. I am fascinated by your concept of good and evil, that it is a personal choice to become evil to allow the beast within to take over, however, in a Christian perspective, Jesus always forgives if a person is repentatent. Do you think if someone made who made the choice of killing or the mistake in passion to kill, that that person could not turn back if the wanted to? That there was no redemption? I also had a question about the 11 girls in the Shadow Game, will those women be involved in your Dark Series? I want you to know that I enjoy your books and can hardly put them down when I get my hands on them. I just discovered your books and I love them. I have read most of the Dark Series. The only thing that disturbs the flow of your words, at least for me, is your use of "honey and baby" in some of the books. They seem so ordinary within the cadence of such beautiful, almost poetic writing. They actually stop me in my tracks. My husband calls me, "Baby," and I love it, but for some reason, the words just don't seem to fit your genre. You are a gifted writer. Thank you for hours of entertainment.

I really like the Carpathian saga. The books were easy to get into and carry the readers attention. The last book Shadow game wasn't as good. I had to start in the center in order to read the book. I just wanted to let fellow readers that are waiting for Dark Melody, it is now being sold at Chapters at least here in Canada. I love the dark series and I have just about all of them, so I was waiting for Dark Melody to come out in november, however they have published it sooner in seems. I love your work. A few years ago I was browsing through my local bookstore and happened upon Dark Magic. It kept me spellbound and after reading it at least 20 more times it still can. I have enjoyed every one of your books and always eagerly anticipate the new one.

I'd like to say that I really enjoy your books. I was looking for something to read and picked up Dark Legend, I read like the first couple of pages and put it down, a few weeks later I was going on a road trip and took the book...totally fell in love with it, and Lucian. I couldn't put the book down, my road trip was five days and in that time I read it twice, loved it. I then realized that you had books before this one and well needless to say I have them all and have read the Capathian Series twice (Dark Legend 3 times(please note this is all within a 9 month time)) And the others I have read twice also. I LOVE all your books, and have gotten many others "hooked" on them also.
If I know that a book is going to be part of a series, I usually wait until I have all of them before reading it. I already had the "Dark" series started when I bought Dark Gold. I was just going to look at it, when the next thing I knew, I'd read the whole thing. Which of course meant I had to go back and read the previous ones. Now I eagerly await all of your books and read them right away. Several times in fact before I put them in my library, to be reread over and over again.

I just recently started reading your books and have become addicted. I just finished reading your book Dark Fire which was fabulas. I love how well you can make the vampires and such seem so human. But at the same time you don't make them all fluffy and loving. You always know how to make them someone you can love but at the same time they are always dangerous. Hello. Just wanted to say thanks for writing. I am what most people call a bookworm, to put it lightly. I have been reading books for as long as I could remember. My parents always thought I was a weird kid. A little while ago I walked into Media Play and was searching for a new book to read and Dard Magic(a favorite by the way) caught my eye and my instincts went into high gear. I love it when this happens because I know that I have just found some new friends. After doing a little research I read all of your books in order and enjoyed them very much. Just finished Shadow Game by the way. I liked the rythm of that book, the humor. I swear you put those teasers of the next book at the end to drive readers like me nuts. But then, I'm a freak anyway so I guess there is no help for it........I know that didn't sound very flatering but if you can't be honest with yourself you may as well give up and get back to the funny farm, as my mother always says. I used to be one of those people that made fun of Romance novels, but I read Dark Prince and I liked it. My friend then told me that there was a whole series. I went out and bought them all. I can't wait for Dark Melody. In the mean time I've read all the books a second time. (yes I know Haha) The funny thing is that I have a little group of friends at school that read the series and we all talk about it. Its even funnier that I'm only 16 and the rest of them are younger than me. I love the fights between the males and the vampires I'm kind of a tom-boy so I like that kind of stuff.I'm also a writer,I'm not nearly as good as Ms. Feehan, but I do try. I loved both of these books so much that when I started to read them; it was nearly impossible for me to put them down.
Lair of the Lion almost reminded me of the Dark series.

Hi Christine I have read your first four books in the dark series at least four tines .I have also read all the books you have written I just finished shadow game and loved it. My favorite books were the first four in the dark series. I hope more are like those whosw male characters are as strong boyissh possivive and protective Dark magic is my all time favorite.

I have been reading romances for almost a quarter of a century. Wow that feels weird to say. That's only been since I was 13 and my grandmother got me hooked. Dark Melody is most certainly my favorite Dark Book to date. You amaze me! This one had me hooked from the first page to the end. What an incredible conflict! I went through such an array of emotions. I really felt Dayan and Corrine's pain and love and hope. This book is going straight off the charts when it comes out. People will never forget this book.

Thanks for the awesome reading. My first encounter with your writing was the Fantasy book. That led me to the Dark series. I LOVE THEM and am glad you're still continuing the series.
