Hello, Christine!
Today I finished Dark Descent and yesterday Dark Symphony. I waited
so long with them, because I love your books that much. I want to
keep them and the story never to end.
I loved Byron and Traian. The two books were somehow different form
the last ones. (Excluding Falcon, his book was also great)
The heroines were strong enough to cope with the carpathians and
they were not as scared as the ones in the first books. I liked
that very much.
Christine, I believe you get better and better with every book that
you write and to be honest: Your new books are always an autobuy
for me.
At the moment I am looking forward to Dark Melody and I will definitely
be searching for the books on the sisters. They interest me very
much!

I am in love with the Carpathian Males in the Dark Series. If it
was possible to be a character in one of the dark series, I would
rather be the character in the book than the one I am in real life.

I am thoroughly enjoying Dark Desire. This is the first of your
books that I have read. I got your name when I was looking up another
author (Anne Bishop). I have always enjoyed "good" romance novels
with some Sci-fi thrown in (or vice versa!). Yours is one of the
best I've read in a long time. It's good to know that not all authors
have given up writting a good yarn, rather than just finding some
plausible (barely) excuse to get the lead characters into bed together.
Your characters have chemistry, as well, they seem to leap off the
page at you and get you involved in their lives and problems.

I love all of your Carpathian Books, but I absolutely delight in
reading the ones that have redheads as the heroines. (I've saved
them for my personal collection.) I'm a redhead so I enjoy reading
about women who share my hair color.
All of the Carpathian men can set my teeth on edge, but I understand
why they are so bossy. I love it when the women get something over
on them although that doesn't happen very often.

As I read about the seven sisters I started to remember storys my
grandmother use to tell my sisters and I. The storys were about
witchcraft and our heritage and how they entertwined. Although she
was very insightful and held powers and secrets of her own the storys
she told us have helped us to understand our own abilitys and the

I have to admit to being very disappointed in your story in Only
One when it ended so abruptly. It was written as a short story when
it should have been a whole story in itself.I was so surprised when
it ended and no resolution was given. I am hoping there will be
another story with the characters in the Only One. Jolie and her
Carpathian deserve their time. Please do not tease your faithful
readers and not follow through with a story. I have read MANY different
authorsand their vampyre but I have to say your Carpathians are

yo christine, for being an 18 year old guy i pride myself on the
ammount of reading i do and i have to tell you i read all of your
dark series in about 5 days i did nothing but sit in my room and
before reading all of your books i was hooked on the "axis trilogy"
by sara douglas i thought she was the best writer until i read your
books you write with such a passion between your charachters its
not hard to imagine yourself in there place and actually feeling
the imotions as they feel them and i love the fact your so eager
to read what people think about your books ive writen my own vampire
book and its crap but hey you have to start somewhere and being
a senior in high school i have to tell you in my opinion you are
better than jrr tolkien ka applegate sara douglas and jk rowling
its positively amazing what you do with your work i dont understand
the trailer for dark symphony do you just do it for fun or did you
make a tailor to signify some kind of film?? i know you arent planning

hi..wow.... what a lame beginning lol...i discovered dark fire not
more than a year ago in a book store and i couldnt put it down i
read it in a day and had to get my mom to let me order the rest
of the series i read all the books at least 3 times each i read
them when i was 14 but now im 15 entering high school and am seriously
considering a career in writing(despite my punctuation problem as
you can tell its all one big sentence)i am in that stage where it
feels like i shouldnt be going to high school and i am going to
fail miserably at all i try to do there but after reading your interview
and how you pulled yourself out of the great darkness that was your
life well... i just really want you to know you really are the one
who inspired me ..yeah that did sound cheesy but its true i read
your interviw and 1000 e mails a day is alot so i had some reservations
about contacting you but i read the introduction to your web page
and figured you actually sounded kind of happy to get all those
e mails so i might as well share my 3 cents i have tried to write
numerous stories but all the time i have awesome beginnings and
once the gripping introduction is over my story just kind of slides
away into nothing until its like why am i writing this? i have even
tried to create my own carpathian stories and yet again the intro
is great but the rest...but i keep on trying and i want to thank
you for telling me about that chat room where you can get help with
questions you might have i will defidently have to go there ...and

subject: The Dark Series
I accidently stumbled across Dark Magic at a coffee house with a
swap / trade book section. I picked up Dark Magic because of the
hot guy on the cover and brought the book home because part of the
story takes place in New Orleans (I live just outside of New Oleans)
and it is always fun to read how authors write about New Orleans.
Well, from the second I opened the book, I was HOOKED! When I realized
(very early) that I was in a "series" I immediately went searching
for the previous books, even though you can pick up any book in
the series and understand totally what is going on (a really nice
trait). Now I have every book in the Dark Series and when I finish
a new book, I simply start over with Dark Prince and complete the
series all over again! I must have read the earlier books at least
five times each! And I love hunting used book stores for the "old
covers" - book covers with male models are sooooo much better. At
really "intense" scenes it is neat to flip the book cover and sneak
a peak at the Carpathian. Keep them coming!

I know that we have come a long way from Dark Desire, but, that
book, far and away, was the best! There was something primitive
in the darkness Jaques was living with. He was truly a haunted soul
and his need for Shea has gone unparalleled. I would love to see
another Dark book that reaches the depth that Dark Desire did.
In lives that are not so sunny and bright, sometimes you have to
live some of the madness to have a clear understanding. If you've
never experienced true terror, then I think that you cannot appreciate
the aftershocks.
Propers to Ms. Feehan and I hope to read more of her books with
the madness and mayhem that Dark Desire encrusted.

by my local independant bookstore.This little store imports books
from the USA so i get my books here the same day they are released

The owner recommended the first book to me at the beginning of your
dark series and i was hooked. I have always loved anything a little

Hi,
I haven't written in a long time. And I have benn meaning to. I
love your books. I have my Mom, friends and co-workers hooked on
them too. My best friend in even going to buy all of your books
after she moves. I can't even begin to say who and if I have a favorite.
I think I am leaning towards Jaques. Like I said I love your books,
except. The last book. The Only One. I loved you story, Dark Decent.
But, I have to say that the other two stories in the book can't
hold a candle to you. They were not very good. And I am sorry you
had to share a book with them. That may sound harsh, but I feel
that they weren't very good partners in this book. Other than that,
I thought it was a excellent addition to the Dark series. I have
been wanting to read the Scarletti books but I can't seem to find
them. I keep trying though. Well, keep up the good work. I consider

Hello! My name is Cindy. To tell you the truth, I only read Stephen
King books, until I read The Only One. I was in the grocery store,
I picked the book up and read the back. The first word I saw was
"vampire". I've never read a book about them, but I love vampire
movies. So I thought to myself "well why not?" When I got home and
started reading, I could not stop. Since then I have read Dark Symphony,
The Scarletti Curse, and just started reading Dark Magic. I've only
been reading your books for two weeks, but I have fallen in love
with them. The one thing you must understand, it usually takes me
a month to two months to read one book. Like I said before, I have
three books, and starting on the fourth one, all in two weeks. That
has to mean something, right? I do want to say you are a great writer
and I'm so glad I bought The Only One. I would like to apologize
for being so "wordy". I also want to say "Thank You!" I look forward
to coming home from work, because I want to read more.

I've became a huge fan of the dark series. I even have most of my
friends and co-workers reading them. The one queston I do have or
should I say a couple of us have, is about The Only One. To us there
didn't fill like there was a complete ending and we were wondering
if there was another book with what happens, Did the vampire control
him or did he destroy the vampire. And thats just one of our many
questions. My second concern is there is a couple of the books we
can not find at this current time and was wondering if there is
an address we can order them from. Once again I would like to comment
on how great your books are. They are a twist to te everyday Romance
books. and I havebeen a huge fan of vampire movies since I was a
child and with this series I have ben able to combine my love of
reading and my love of vampire movies.

Dark Prince was the first book of yours that I started with, and
I loved it. I have almost finished the last book in the series and
I am trying to pace myself until I can get the new one but I am
finding it really hard to do. I normally do not do things like this,
but your books have touched something deep in me, my soul, that

Have you ever been to Vlad Draculas castle-Castle Hunindura??? I
was just wondering. Well, thank you for the books that you have

to save. I mean, how would it look if, say, Darius were killed by

I had been reading Shannon Drakes Vampire books and the lady at
the resale bookstore I go to told me about your books. I don't know
which book it was but I was hooked. I saw in the back of the book
the order so I started looking for the set. Walmart and Hastings
came in handy. I have read all the Carpathian books so far, Scarletti
Curse, Lair of the Lion, and Fantasy. Your anthologies are not in
order in back of books but I am glad you listed them in Dark Symphony.
Waiting patiently for the next Dark book also will read Lover Beware
and Shadow Game. This website has helped keeping up with all the
Dark books.

The first book of yours that I read was Lair of the Lion, and I
fell head over heals not only with the book but with your writing.
I was hooked so much that I bought all of your Dark series books
from Dark Prince-Dark Guardian,Plus scarletti curse. While reading
theses books I noticed Dimitri was mentioned throughout the series,
and in Dark Legend Skyler is calmed by the stuffed animals he makes
will they ever get together? ALso in Dark Symphony an ancient helps
Byon, named Dominic, and he is looking for his sister, Rhiannon,
will you write there stories? For their characters in the book left
me feeling sorry for them, and I would like to see them end with
a happy ending.I also want to thank you for writing theses books,
for they helped me get away from the real worlds problems and enter
a fantasy world.

Awhile before Dark Legend came out I was able to get a preview book
that had the first 3 or 4 chapters.I called a 1-800 number and they
sent it to me a few days later free of charge.Will I be able to

I really enjoy reading your Dark series. I have read all of them
and I am looking forward to the release of Dark Melody. My mother
and my doctor got me into reading your books. They are both avid
readers. On another note, I just want to say that "The Only One"
was the last book I read and I was a little disappointed in the
way that it ended. I felt it was not fully developed considering
the other two stories that were included in the book. And by the
way, I did not enjoy those stories at all. "Traian's story left
some loose ends that I think you should have been tied up, such
as: - The fate of Traian in regards to the Master Vampire he has
a connection with?
-What was so important in the caves that was of interest to the
Vampires? and - What happens when Gary goes to the Prince delivering
the information from Traian about the caves? Was the Prince going
to send Traian help? And who is Falcon? I would like to know this
information and if you are planning to continue this story in another
book.

Love all your books, most of all the "dark ones". Dark Dream (After
Twilight) was my first, when I found out there were more but could

I just wanted to let you know that my Mother and I adore your books.
And faithfully wait for every book. I have to say that this last
book(D. symphony) was probably the most erotic of the bunch. The
fact that she had to use all other sences other than sight . Wow!!!
Anyhow I had a purpose for writing.
I like to listen to all types of music, there is a new group out
with a new song that I that I think would be a perfect anthem for
our wonderful carpathians. The name of the group is Evenesnce and
the name of the song is " Bring me to Life" and the name of the
albam is Fallen. Its an alturnitive rock style song I'm not sure
of the the exact sytle of sound.
I love the song because It reminds me of the carpatians. Oh my sister
reads also we got her hooked. anyway check the song out its cool.

I've heard many women in various book egroups I'm apart of talk

me . Two years ago I had gotten pregnant and had to leave my job
. The pregnancy was 9 years after the last child and I was not really

Christine, Having read all your books, as well as the latest releases
(Dark Symphony and Dark Descent) and having pre-ordered whatever
can be from Amazon, I just wanted to say yet again...Thank You!
The quality of your storytelling is beyond mere vocabulary. Each
story not only tantalizes, but another piece of the Carpathian puzzle
is reveled and more questions asked. Possibilites multiply. For
example, in Dark Symphony another family or bloodline of the Carpathinans
is reveled, and Byron's Nephew, was too much. (I needed tissue and
an ace bandage for my ribs after reading about Him!) Dark Descent
though short was also very forthcomming in those same possibilities,
what with Gary, a Vampire drinking of an Ancient and more hints
of a Wizardly involvement with Carpathinans. Definetly, much more
please!!! And I have learned to deal with the withdrawel, so far
(*lol* chocolate can be a friend!) Again...Thank You!

I happened to see your book, Dark Symphony in a used bookstore and
I love anything mystical. It took me 2 months to pick it up and
read it. When I finally did, I fell in love with them. I went to

Dear Ms. Feehan,
I am a new fan of your extraordinary books. Your heroes take my
breath away and I find the heroines inspiring. I have always loved
the paranormal, especially vampires. I first began my love of vampires
while reading Anne Rice's novels, but lost interest after the 4th
book. I also loved her Witching Hour series much more. As an aspiring
romance writer with the paprnormal element, I was wondering how
you go about your research. Where does it start and what resources
do you use? I am mostly interested in research paranormal occurances

I am a voracious reader of romance novels. I'll usually finish a
300 plus page book in a day. I must say though your Dark Series
is something I read VERY slowly, savouring every word!!!! Will Barack/Syndil
continue their courtship in Dyan's story??? Also, will Skyler(sp?)
get to find her own lifemate??? Will any of the other couples children
have their own story??? Will the Scarlotti's continue???
Keep up the great work. I just bought the complete set of the Dark

I can't believe I have grown to love stories about beings that could
turn evil if they can't find true love. I grew up scaring myself
to death with Bela Lugosi as Dracula & here I am at the age of 44
falling in love w/pre-vampire beings. Who would have thought!! I
absolutly LOVE the Dark series. So far I have most of the Dark series
with the exception of After Twilight (Dark Dream) & The Only One
(Dark Descent). I can't wait to find them. In checking with the
graph that you have in Dark Symphony I have all of the Dubrinsky's;
Daratrazanoff;Savage & Justicano/Belandrake. I need Dark Destiny
from Von Shrieder & the 4 from the 'Other Carpathian Lifemates'
section. I noticed that there are 2 Dark Fire's - 1 with Darius
& Tempest (Daratrazanoff) & the other one has Barack & Syndil. Is
this correct?
Is Dark Destiny; Dark Fire (Barack & Syndil); Dark Melody; Dark
Dream/After Twilight & Dark Descent/The Only One, available now?
If so where may I find them?
My first love is scottish warriors who time travel. But you have

I started the dark series a little over a year ago. A friend introduced
me to the books and i was hooked.I have all the books in the series
and am eagerly awaiting the next one with Dayan in it. I have also
introduced friends that I work with to them and we often discuss
the plots and characters at work. I also have the scarletti curse
and the liar of the lion, and enjoyed these books as well. I am
currently a full time nursing student, but I make time each week
to read one of the dark series books. It helps relieve stress by
allowing me to focus on something else for awhile. Again I love

Hello, Mrs. Feehan. I have began to read your Dark Series and is
awed by your imagination. In the middle of a novel I was reading,
the background noise was my nephew watching MTV and this song came
on by a group name Evanescence and the song was "Bring Me To Life".
I thought it decribed beautifully how a person who shows up in your
life and make you "see" and "live" again and rescue you from bleekness.
Well, that song now reminds me of your Carpathians and the women

Christine, I have just now discovered your books by accident. I
needed a book to read on a bus one doy and I grabed a couple of
books off a shelf at my local wal-mart. read the back and off i
went thinking i was getting a dark lord kind of romance.was i in
for a shock just how dark a lord.That was a week ago I now have
7 of your books.They are very hard to find where
I moved to in fact I can find none. I asked my good friends at our
local libarary to see if they could get them.I absolutely love them.

I can't explain how disappointed I was with this book. I felt cheated.
Not with the beginning of the story. That was as always fantastic.
But that's all it was.........a beginning. This should be a full
length novel. Traian & Jolie have so much more to do. What happens
with the vampires plot. What happens with her sister & brother.
I felt like you were taking me somewhere and along the way we got
lost. I waited with bated breath for this story only to be let down.

I hope I am not the only one to think that the dark series is absolutely
wonderful. I picked up the Dark Symphony by accident 2 weeks ago
thinking this was another author. At first I wasn't going to read

Dear Mrs. Feehan, I've often felt like the odd one out among my
friends and family simply because I have a passion for ancient things,

In your latest book The Only One - you bring up the wizard clan...are
you going to expand on this in one of your upcoming books. I once
read a book by Kay Hooper called Wizard in Seattle and your reference
to the wizard branch in this book reminded me of that book. I would

I'm only a junior in highschool yet have already grasped a love
for romance novels, particularly paranormal romance. By curiosity,
I picked up one of your books in the local library: "Dark Fire",
I fell in love with it instantly. Most books I read take a while
to get really good and hook me in, but with your book by 2 pages
I was snagged. While reading some of the entries other people have
written I relized there are many other books that you have written

I read The Only One last week and it was
wonderful. I would like to see more of Traian's
and Joie's family. This cannot be the end of their
story. They have to find and destroy the vampire
that took Traian's blood and her brother and sister
are wonderful characters. Maybe Gabrielle & Gary
will marry and produce a mate for a lucky
Carpathian. There was a lot going on in this story.
I know you were limited as to how long it could be
because of the anthology. But like others, I would
like to see more of them. Is it possible that the new
Carpathian's, Dragon...., you introduced in Dark
Symphony, sister is trapped in the cave that the
vampires are searching? Could she have been
trapped by the wizards to guard their treasure?
Keep writing your wonderful stories. I am not the
least disappointed in this tale. I eagerly await the
continuation of this story as it is definitely much
bigger than what could be contained in an
anthology and will involve many more characters.

subject: Carpathians and Others
Ms. Feehan, I stumbled upon your books while browsing thru Amazon.com
looking for unusual books to read. I love the fantasy, paranormal-type
of books (I used to read the Merlin legacies, Linda Lael Miller's
vampire romances, Joanna Lindsey's galaxic-warrior romances, and
I now like Harry Potter & Lord of The Rings, too!). Anyway, I began
to really enjoyed your latest Dark series books starting from Dark
Challenge because the earlier books are really so "bad". The older
Carparthian males really were so arrogant and abusive to their lifemates
& somehow there was not much of a plot. Even the vampires are so
puny and pathetics. I only started to like the Dark Series starting
from Dark Challenge where finally a Carparthian male met his match
in a female Carparthian. The only flaw was that the female surrendered
so quickly. So much for independent intelligent female. Anyway,
I really enjoyed the Lair of the Lion. I also loved Dark Symphony
because finally you write about a plump woman. You can't imagine
how good it feels to read about an "imperfect" woman meeting her
wonderful lifemate (Isn't that the secret dreams of most women with
non-perfect non-supermodel, plump/fat bodies to have handsome good-hearted
men to notice & love them?). I also liked the fact that more and
more of the later heroines are strong-willed, independent and intelligent
- not the weak, helpless swooning types. I hope you write more about
these women. I've noticed that your writing improved at every new
book, so please keep it up! I can't wait for the next books coming
later this year.

subject: The Only One
This book is by far one of my "new" favorites. I love the strength
that Joie protrays. She's smart, beautiful, strong and has an incredible
sense of family. She wasn't hesitant to claim her man. Traian, as
carpathian men ususlly are, was handsome, sensitive, thoughtful,
and just sexy. The only complaint I have concerning this book is
that it wasn't longer. I could not put it down. It's a must read!!!

subject: Ramblings
I've read the new book 2x since i got it on May 1st.I like the older
guys better then the younger guys.The ancients seem to have more
respect for humans mabey because they've protected them longer.
Gregori especially seems to have a great contempt for almost everyone.
He didn't want to help Byron because he thought he'd turn soon yet
G was a few hundred yrs older.
He also makes comments about humans not knowing the difference between
vamp and Carp's,but several times even the Carp's can't tell.
1.When Aiden asks his sweetie if G has turned.
2.The guys didn't know that Rand had turned.
3.Gabe and Luc.
Even the guys who should know better don't always have the proper
respect for humans.
Shea's guy didn't believe that Falcon's lifemate could run from
a vampire for 15 yrs,despite the circumstances of his meeting shea.

Questions:
Could a Carpathian convert a male or female that wasn't their lifemate.

Are any of the unmated males going to go lifemate hunting in the

Would a very young male who still saw in color recognise his lifemate
if he meet her?--------------------------------
Something to think about!!
Mabey the males should get their human wives pregnant first--then
convert them after the baby is born.Rand seemed to get Maggie pregnant
quickly and safely.-----------------------------------------
And will their ever be a flip side a carpathian woman w/a male human?

I just wanted to let you know that you have given me many hours
of enjoyment with you Dark Series books. I stumbled onto them by
accident at the library with Dark Guardian and Dark Legend. After
reading those, I just had to have them all! Please keep adding to
them! I can't imagine ever getting tired of them.

subject: Dark Descent
I've been with your books from the very first (Dark Prince) and
have bought each one as they came out. My favorites still remain
the first four Dark books. I was disappointed with the ending of
Dark Descent but I realize it had limited space available with it
being an anthology but I hope to know what happens to these characters
and hope they don't get skipped over. I also think it would add
a new twist for Jubal to be a female Carpathian's lifemate and see
how a human male handles the change.

Hello, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading these two
books. I bought Dark Fire opened it and read it in one day. That
is saying a lot since I become easily preoccupied with other things
fairly easy. I went to work and bought The Only One by sure interest.
I didn't know you have written a story in the book till I was home
and had time to better look over it. Dark Descent was another mind-blowing
tale. I then took it upon my self to look your name up in AOL search
and fall upon this site. I also joined the Yahoo group and hopeful
they will allow me into it. You are a truly great writer and I wish
you nothing but the best for you in hopes you get just that. Thank
