All I can say is, WOW.
It makes me dread reading other books now cause I know the leading man will not be a carpathian male. Others at work always ask what we are reading, and we have to get them started reading with a dark book !
It hooks them every time.
I think Gregori is my personal favorite, with Lucian coming in a very close second.
Thanks for writing such complelling stories that really draw you in to their world. Your family must be very proud !
I always look forward to your next book !

I was wondering if you've been approached by anyone associated with the making of movies? You should definitly consider writing a script. I think it would make a perfect movie and I'm sure me as well as your many fans would go to see it. Thank you for writing such interesting and imaginative stories.

Dear Christine,
First let me say, I LOVE your books! I teach high school and one of my favorite students is graduating in May. I've gotten her hooked on your books--her favorite is DARK FIRE. I purchased a copy for her as a grad. gift, then thought it would make it more special if it could be autographed by you. Is it possible for you to do that? (And have it back before May 20th?!)

Hello,
I love your dark series and have read almost everyone since I started on them last week. I was wandering if Demetri (spelled wrong) who is mentioned in dark challenge has a book. I wondered because Skyler seemed to connect with the stuffed wolf that was given to her. He is not listed on any of the family trees so, how is he tied in with the rest? Thank you for your time.

Hello Christine,
I discovered your series at the end of February (Dark Symphony). I soon ordered all of the Dark Series and have read them all! What I am most amazed about is that while I'm reading each story I'm thinking to myself this is my favorite but then I go on to the next and that becomes my favorite :) I just finished Dark Fire and I am madly in love with Darius! Even though all of the men seem so gorgeous, I am so drawn to Darius' character. I can't wait for Dark Melody, when the reunion takes place with Gregori and his long lost siblings Darius and Desari. Christine you are so amazing and I am forever a fan!

Christine,
I just wanted to tell you how much I love your books. I write fiction and have written vampire and spirit short stories but for about the last 15-20 years I have wanted to write a book about the supernatural wonder of the powers of the vampire without the evilness. A friend suggested to read one of your books. I started with Dark Prince and have read each one since. Thank you so much for all the hours of enjoyment. You have given me the courage to possibly attempt my story. I don't know. We'll see. Sometimes the characters just won't leave me alone (they invade my dreams and such) and it is almost getting to that point for Shakara and Calina (the heriones in my vampire story-not really vampire but half-vampire I guess). Keep writting the series and I will keep buying them. Again thank you.

subject: The Ghostwalker

I am sooo mad at you. I read the Ghostwalker preview at the end of Dark Symphony, and all that made me do was want to read the book. You know, the book I can't read until atleast September. That's six months away. That's an entire half a month. Say it ain't so! Can you be in love with a book that's not out yet... lol...Can you be in love with a book? Anyway, even though you're making me wait, you're still on my tops list, which by the way I only put someone on when they take me into a great experience and back again. Some take you on a trip and it's fun and all, but all they get is a smile. Some take you on a shopping spree, which makes you want to buy another one of their books and then there's authors like Catherine Coulter, Amanda Quick, Johanna Lindsay, Iris Johasen, Dara Joy, Judith McNaught, Teresa Medieres, Shannon Drake, Andrea Kane, and Jude Devereau (this is my top ten list), that take you on an experience and back. Now they not only make you smile and make you want to go out and buy their next book, but they also make you want to read the old one's over and over again. That's very economic of them, isn't it? Anyway, just so that you know, you have made my top 10...my top 11. I can't get rid of anyone on the list because, I can still reread them... again. If I had a medal, I would give you one, but I don't because I'm po' because I spend all my extra cash on romance novels, or as I tell my friends at work when they say I'm reading "smut", "historical smut". My sister told me I should read Sista Soldier or Terry McMillan and while I think they are very talented in a world where we might need cultural balance, who wants to read about women who are mad at their family, their man, or the world...everyday...for the rest of their days. I can depress myself if it's that important to me. Anyway, I love you books and your style. I got my friends hooked on "Sex and the City" and anime. Maybe, I can push a little of the obsession your way. :)

Your fan
Lynda

His brief intorduction rescuing Byron was just enough of a temptation to leave me dying to know more about him and his sister. I have read everything you have written thus far. I absolutely love how you spin a yarn. If I start one of your books during my commute home-I don't quit until I've finished it. I have read your "Dark" series at least 4 times in it's entirety. Every time I pick up the latest in the series, I start the entire series all over just to keep track of the various characters.
Thanks for connecting the Scarletti family with the Carpathians. Although, I am a bit confused. When I read Fantasy, I thought those characters were the decendants of the original Jaguar people. Although as I write this some of what I am thinking is becoming clearer. If the original males left their women on their own I guess a specific branch could have become intertwined with the Scarletti family and that is where the telepathic ability came from. But, if the idea of the Don selecting his bride from the villago is based on continuing the gifts of the Jaguar women within the Scarletti line; why did not the original Scarletti Curse allude to that?
At any rate, I love anything with your name on it. I pre-order every book as soon as the release date is published just so I don't miss one. Thank you for Dayan's story. At the end of Dark Desire I really felt sorry for him being the only member of the band without a lifemate. I am looking forward to the reunion of the band as well as other members of their far flung family and ancestors. Oh yeah, before I end this message. Please write a story for Skyler. I cried so hard for her during Gabriel and Francesca's story. Skyler needs some happiness and life mate who works with wolves (hint hint).

Thanks again for a wonderful escape into the world of Carpathains.

Christine,
you are wonderful and talented writer. I have to say that out of the dark series my favorite has to be a tie between Dark Symphony and Dark Desire. Each of your characters touch my heart. I find myself, laughing, crying and experiencing all emotions with them. Bravo to you. After reading just some of the entries in your guestbook I have to agree with your other fans please do not quit writing about the "Carpathians" they are wonderful, with each new character you introduce I can see a new book on the horizen. It would be great also if you could give us (your fans) some more background on Prince Vllad, the dragonslayers, the wizards and the jaguar people. How did the jaguar people become extinct? was it due to the same reason the the Carpathians are slowly following the same path? I could go on and on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your books are a "light" to the "darkness" in my world.

subject: Songs while reading your Dark Books

I don't know if anyone hears the group "Evanescence" but they have a song called 'Bring Me to Life' and the lyrics so remind me of the Carpathians, I have to actually listen to that song over and over while I'm reading my Dark Books! It's awesome here are the lyrics:
EVANESCENCE
how can you see into my eyes like open doors,
leading you down into my core, where i've become so numb.
without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold,
until you find it there and lead it back home.

[wake me up]
wake me up inside,
[can't wake up]
wake me up inside,
[save me]
call my name and save me from the dark.
[wake me up]
bid my blood to run,
[can't wake up]
before i come undone.
save me from the nothing i've become.

now that i know what i'm without,
you can't just leave me.
breathe into me and make me real.
bring me to life.

[wake me up]
wake me up inside,
[can't wake up]
wake me up inside,
[save me]
call my name and save me from the dark.
[wake me up]
bid my blood to run,
[can't wake up]
before i come undone.
save me from the nothing i've become.

bring me to life.
[i've been living a lie.
there's nothing inside.]
bring me to life.

frozen inside without your touch,
without your love, darling,
only you are the life among the dead.

all this time, i can't believe i couldn't see,
kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me.
i've been sleeping a thousand years it seems.
got to open my eyes to everything.
without a thought, without a voice, without a soul,
don't let me die here.
there must be something more,
bring me to life.

[wake me up]
wake me up inside,
[can't wake up]
wake me up inside,
[save me]
call my name and save me from the dark.
[wake me up]
bid my blood to run,
[can't wake up]
before i come undone.
save me from the nothing i've become.

bring me to life.
[i've been living a lie.
there's nothing inside.]

bring me to life.

Dear Christine,
I love your carpathian and
gothic books but the carpathian books are definatly my favorites I seem to finish them off in no time and need to find the next book. You have a wonderful imagination, I have always loved all kinds of romance novels but there is something fun in reading them with the twist you have added I have always been fascinated by vampires but your books show a hole new intresting side with a hole race of people that are good and decent that have definatly met there match with the women you pair them up with. Please keep writing them it like your favorite T.V. series you just don't want it to end I hope you have plenty of ideas for this group of supernatural men and women to keep them going for a long time because this is one fan who wants to keep reading about them.

Miss Feehan;
It has been a pleasure and a real treat reading all your books. The characters are both demanding and considerate of their lifemates. I enjoy the circumstances and characters that reappear, it is like a closing of one door and the opening of more likeable characters. Have you ever thought about a female Carpathian meeting her destiny with a male human/psychic? I just finished re-reading Dark Symphony 4 times. All my books are keepers. Someday I hope to see your books become films or movies for television. Please keep up the excellently written books!

Thanks for your imagination that makes these books possible.

Dear Ms. Feehan,

I have read all of your books and just finished reading Dark Symphony. My question has to do with Dominic, at the beginning of Dark Symphony you provided a dark family tree of sorts and I had remembered that Dominic was mentioned in the first couple of "Dark" books, and I was afraid that you had forgotten about him, but after reading Symphony I was so happy that he was still fighting vampires and not one himself. Why wasn't he in the family tree?? Is he, along with his sister going to die?? I hope he finds his lifemate before its too late!!
Please don't forget about him-

Thank you so much for telling the Carpathians story, along with all your other beautiful storys of shape-shifters and goths. I wish you could pop their stories out every month. every week even, i have enjoyed reading everything you have written so far and I wait longingly for your next book!!!

I hate to do this, because I know the talent and intellect required in writting, but I must. Dark Symphony was awful. The only redeeming quality was Byron. The plot was too convaluted, there were too many things going on in the story. In the past you have always stood firm in your belief that you wanted to give every Carpathian character their own story and just highlight the other characters that we all know and love. That was not done in this book.

I was sick unto death of reading about the problems of that family, it took away form Byron and Tony's strengths. The love story building between them was never allowed to develope, they just came together. I enjoyed the story of his nephew and sister more than anything besides sallivating over the story to be told of the other acnient that was sent out by Vlad.

The story and plot were weak becuase you atempted to do too much. Maybe that was your editor or publishers talking, I do not know. However, I do know if they do not allow you to write in the manner your readers are acustomed you will no longer enjoy the following that you have. What really chaps me is that I felt like I was reading a Maggie Shayne novel, all charter and no cohesion.

I first started reading your books about a year ago after I discovered Maggie Shayne and now I am hooked.=)I have a fascination for vampires, now carpathians, and other mystic creatures. I am anxiously awaiting for all of your other books to come out. I have a couple of questions for you. I currently work in Waldenbooks store in Vancouver WA and I was wondering if you ever made appearances in book stores and if you would appear at the store I work. If you are too busy, that's okay. It's just that I would love to meet the person who amazingly feeds my imagination.
The other question I have is do you plan on going any further with the Dark Series. I must say that I really enjoy them. I lay awake at night and just wonder what it would be like to just experience something paranormal. Paranormal as in Carpathian or people who turn into lions. I know that its just fiction but part of me just wishes that it was real. It was nice to be able to you.

Always a huge fan,

I'm a big fan and have read all of your books. Your gothics have a different tone than the Dark Series, of course. Dark Symphony seems to have that "different" tone than the other "Dark" books. Does your publisher, and editor, have a great influence on that tone. I enjoyed Dark Symphony, but not nearly as much as your other Dark books. I re-read the other Dark books with enjoyment but don't feel the need to do so with this book. I'm glad to see the return of your other publisher/editor for your next book. Christine, I have fallen in love with your Dark Series. I have read them all and look forward to the next. I have read the Scarletti Curse and loved it, as well. Thank you for your books, I will read Lair of the Lion on the plane next week and become lost in your wonderful fantasies, and not have to think about the realities of flying from Texas to Boston

Dear MS Feehan,
I would have to say thank you to Stefan for his face was the reason I started reading your books. I have started collecting them since I read Dark Guardian. I can seem to put them down. I don't think you can ever write them as fast as I go through them. They are so exciting to me I always look for the next one so I can start another one. I hope you never stop writing. I wish there was a way to meet you and Stefan. Sincerely yours,

You have a wonderful gift - being able to create such marvelous characters. Every book that I have read (I'm working my way through the Dark Series) has completely enthralled me! To the point that I read them too quickly! I just have to find out what happens on the next page and so can't put them down! I have read a few of the early titles 2 & 3 times and still get as much enjoyment as I did on the 1st reading.

Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.

I am a HUGE fan, I LOVED Byron's story, so very different from the others, and so nice to see the Scarletti story woven in! We've seen the mention of Dominic of the Dragonseekers a few times now, will there be a separate book on his story?? At any rate, keep writing, your imagination is a formidable thing!

I don't have a favorite; they are all great. I like to read them all over and over again. I know you have plans for several books yet and I am eagerly awaiting them. I just hope that you will continue to write for this series even when those are completed. I can still remember when you first came out with Dark Prince. Madeline Baker was talking about your upcoming book on a chat I was in and I am so glad I was there to hear about you. I remember continuously checking Amazon to see if the book had come out and I continue to do so for each one of your books still today. I love your stories. They are touching and very memorable. I also wanted to thank Katherine Schlem for the effort she has gone to in order to create the guide, and Cindy Hwang and Manda Clark-Woods for the family tree. They are wonderful additions to the books. So, thank you again for you amazing talent and for your generosity in sharing that with all you fans.

Dear Christine,
I want to thank you for writing such spell-binding books that have brought so much elation to my life. You're stories have renewed my keen interest in reading again. I can honestly say that for at least six years I have not read a single novel all the way through because the stories were all soporific. One day, recently after I divorced, I borrowed Dark Challenge from my mother and read it in two days. I went to the bookstore, bought all your books and read them all within a month! I couldn't wait for Dark Symphony to arrive and, as I predicted, it was phenomenal and it held my interest all throuhout the book. I know this may sound silly, but your books helped me recover from my divorce. They were simply cathartic and stimulating. I always felt alive and scintillating when I read them. I can't begin to tell you what an excellent writer you are and you have an incredible imagination. Christine you are truly a gifted and talented person. Thank you, Veronica

I just wanted to tell you how much I adore your Dark series. I cannot even count how many times I have read them. I am only 15 but I have wanted to write romance novels since I was twelve. I didn't even plan on reading your series, but my cousin kept talking about how good they were and how hott the guys were. Then she mentioned vampires and I was hooked. The first I read was Dark Legend, though my favorite has been by far Dark Magic, (Gregori is so amazingly gorgeous!). I cannot wait to read your other Dark books. I just wanted to tell you that whenever I get discouraged with my writing, I just think of all the books you have written and how I plan to have my novels next to yours in the bookstores someday.

If it would be possible could you tell me if you are planning on developing characters with more jaguar and dragonseer capabilities? I thought they added the perfect touch to the last book. I look forward to your next book.
Thanks for the wonderful books that I can not read just once.

Hi my question is simple, Gabriel and Lucien are brothers to Gregori, right? And are they older? I just finished reading Dark Symphony and I can't wait to hear more about the Carpathians that were sent out long ago and are just now returning. I'd also love to hear more about Lucian and Gabriel in other books, see how they're doing, etc. Good luck.

I have been reading your books now for a little over a year. The first time I come across them is when I payed a visit to Chattanooga tenn. After I read them I passed them onto a few of my friends and now I'm adicted to them, and so are my friends. I can't seem to put them down once I start to read. The way you describe their life styles and their situations I feel like I'm right there with them. I'm hoping you'll keep adding to the Dark collection. I feel like they are apart of my life when I read them. You are my top 5 authors and I just want to say you really capture your readers in all aspects of what a real reader wants in a Novel. I read Dark Symphony over the weekend. It was
wonderful. The excerpt from Ghostwalker was good
and unexpected. I am looking forward to reading
the finished product. I really enjoyed the other
dark characters in Dark Symphony. I especially liked
the new character, Mr. Dragonseeker. I cannot wait
until he finds a lifemate, as he must. I am also
anxious to meet his sister and read her story. Why
wasn't Gabriel's wife, Francesca, mentioned as one of the ones
who is working on saving the children born? In your
last Dark book, you mentioned that she and Shea
were working on helping her carry her child to term
& keep it alive. I really enjoy your books and hope
you continue to tie the different stories together. I
like the way Dark Symphony ties the Dark Series to
The Scarletti Curse & Fantasy. It appears that there
will be even more ties between them in the future.
I am very critical of the books I read. I find that you
do an excellent job of handling all the different
existing characters you have to work with, while
introducing news ones to keep your readers interested.
I see that you have introduced one of the lifemates
from a future book, the owner of the security agency
that Antonietta uses. Nice intro. Will there be ties
made to Liar of the Lion in the future? I think that
would be interesting also. Is there a story coming
on Dmitri? Keep up the good work and please keep
writing. I always look forward to your books and have
read each of them several times. My favorite is still
Dark Magic, Gregory's story. I am so happy that his
family is large and growing. They are all so full of
character. I also liked that you showed a young
Carpathian trying to learn and master his talents. He
is a lot of fun and full of mischief. I look forward to
seeing more of Byron's nephew and his antics.
Thanks for writing. I just wish more of your books
came out more often. I all of your fans wish your
books could go from your thoughts directly to print.
We know that this is not possible and we must just
wait. Our impatience is a measure of your success
and talent. Until the next book. Thanks.

I was really dissappointed in dark symphony.
I had been looking forward to another great book, however your writing is going in a direction that I had not expected. My favorite book was Dark Desire, great story with alot of emotion and characters that came alive for the reader. However the more recent books there is more violence to women and children in these books. The reason I read your books is to escape reality, If you are attempting to spread awareness of spouse and child abuse this may not be the best format to do so. I did not read dark symphony, I usually like to skeme thruough the book before I start a book. The pages I was scheming through were not something I would want to read about in my romance books. If I want to know how depraved people can be I just turn on the news. I hope that In the future your stories will be similar to your first 5 novels were love triumphs, and childrens are not sexually abused.

Christine, I just wanted you to know that I have really, really enjoyed reading about the Carpathians and always look forward to the next book. I can't say which is my favorite, because I have loved them all. I just wish they came out faster. I love them!! And I think that you have a wonderful way of telling their stories to where your readers feel that they are apart of the Carpathian world during each and every one of their books.

Also, do you have something in store for little Margarite? (I see her, in the future, as a lifemate)...

Anyway, I have to go... Please go on writing (but do something to get your Dark Series published more quickly!!!).

Dear Ms. Feehan - I greatly enjoy the books in your Dark series, and have noticed a "sameness in plot" (please forgive the criticism, no offense intended). I would really enjoy books that return to other charachters and continue the story - say, throughout a pregnancy or some such. For example, i'd like to know more about Gabriel, Francesca, Tamara and Skyler. Also, Lucian said that he wouldn't be able to give up hunting vampires - I think others would enjoy an action/romance detailing some of Jaxon's and Lucian's adventures.
Basically, this is just a plea to return to old charachters and show more of the relationships between them. one thing i'm curious about - it was rumored for 400 yrs that Lucian was a vampire - surely there are some Carpathians who still, knowing his age and power, believe him to have turned? I would like to return to old charachters (esp. Gabriel and Lucian) and find out more about their relationships with other Carpathians.

AFTER READING DARK SYMPHONY I FELT IT WASN'T AS GOOD AS THE
OTHER DARK SERIES BOOKS. I USUALLY ENJOY YOUR BOOKS TREMENDOUSLY, HOWEVER IT SEEMED DARK SYMPHONY WAS CONCENTRATED ON THE SCARLETTIES INSTEAD OF BYRON. IT MADE BYRONS CHARACTER SEEM LIKE A WHOSE. WHILE MOST OF THE OTHER DARK SERIES BOOKS MADE THE CHARACTERS STRONG AND MASCULINE. THEY SAW WHAT THEY WANTED TOOK IT THEN APOLAGIZED AND MADE UP FOR IT LATER. THE FEMALE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT HOWEVER THE CHARACTER OF ANTONIETTA WAS A LITTLE TO SELFISH. SHE WANTED BYRON BUT SHE WASN'T WILLING TO COMPRAMISE.

THEY SAW WHAT THEY WANTED, WENT AFTER IT AND TOOK IT. THEN MADE UP FOR IT IN GENTLENESS.

I just finished "Dark Symphony." It was wonderful. Along with the very hot romance elements, the mystery of the unknown Jaguar/Jaguars was such a well plotted mystery that I was quite surprised.

I have enjoyed all of the "Dark" series, and after "Lair of the Lion" and this new story, I find that i must now go back and read the "Scarletti Curse." A very artful blending of the converging stories.

Thank you .

IT WAS LIKE YOU WERE PUTTING DOWN BLACK CULTURE, OR THAT ONLY PEOPLE LIKE JOSEF WHO'S WEIRD OR IS A TERROR CAN RELATE TO IT. I have to disagree with that many AFRICAN AMERICANS have lived the life of alot of those RAP songs, not all of them but some of them. I DON'T LIKE ALOT OF THE MUSIC MYSELF< I AM AFRICAN AMERICAN BECAUSE SOME OF IT IS VERY BAD < BUT ALOT OF IT IS GOOD, SO I HOPE YOU MEANT YUOR COMMENTS ABOUT RAP IN A NICE WAY. I MUST SAY THAT THE 'DARK SYMPHONY' WAS AN UNEXPEDTED DELIGHT; GREAT COMBINATION.WHEN I FINISH A STORY I AM TRULY SAD TO SEE IT END BECAUSE I HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR NEXT TINTALLATING JOURNEY INTO TO THE "DARK". SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I absolutely love each and every one of your books.I'm wanting to know if Dimitri will hook up with that very special child in Dark Gaurdian. If not him someone else she would be a perfect character for a story line. Please keep your entertaining style of writing! You bring the pages to life! Thanks,Kitten

Hi!
I was ordering a whole bunch of your books for a customer (she loves your Dark Series) and she gave me a whole bunch of titles she found in Dark Symphony in the family trees. Well, I can't seem to find them anywhere. Not even here on your site. Which would argue that they don't exist. The titles are Dark Melody, Dark Dream, Dark Desert, Dark Destiny. Could you let me know what's up with these? Thanks very much!
Sincerely,
Sarah-Jane Murrell

I just finished reading Dark Symphony, and let me tell ya, I was like, wow. This has to be Christine Feehan at her best. I was intrigued from the get-go all the way thru the book. It was a love story at its best. I liked the incorporation of a mystery and well as the introduction of the Dragonseeker Dominic and also the revelation about the Scarletti's. Dark Fire was my favorite up until now. But, after reading Dark Symphony, I totally fell in love with the whole package. Her books just keep getting better and better. Keep up the astounding storytelling!

Have really enjoyed your books!! Pre-ordered Symphony & read it in 4 hours---I need more please!! Very addicted!! Loved the family/connection charts--gives us a hint of the future. Found more than I bargained for. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Had to check out pub dates-only thing is, I didn't see anything planned for Skyler. Is Dimitri going to find her soon, she was so enchanted with his stuffed wolf?

Dear Christine,
I read Dark Symphony in two nights. I loved the book and am glad that Jaques and Byron spoke. I am so happy that you are continuing with the Dark series. You keep the story lines fresh and new. I am a huge fan and own all of your books and will continue to collect them. I defently think that Dominic of the Dragonseekers should have his own story. He seemed so tired and lonely and he deserves someone to bring him light. I praise your writing and only wish I could write stories as well as you. Keep up the great work.

Jan
